This May half term, we will be taking inspiration from the 'Collecting Coventry' exhibition, an eclectic mix of the Herbert Art Gallery and Museums collections of visual art, social history and natural sciences. We will delve into Coventry's inspiring and playful past by making our own Victorian playthings. Join us and learn how to make spinning animations and fabulous hobby horses.

Daily Activities:

Saturday 25, Monday 27 & Tuesday 28, Wednesday 29 May

Zooming Zoetropes & Spinning Tops: Spin away with your imagination whilst handcrafting mesmerising cylinders and moving images hand-drawn by you. Spin your finished Zoetrope and enjoy watching your very own fantastic animation. Also, try upcycling materials, cork cones and wooden skewers into a collection of colourful spinning tops.

Thursday 30 Friday 31 May & Saturday 1 June

Lady Godiva's Hobby Horse: Reimagine socks, buttons, a piece of felt, cloth and a stick by turning them into a fabulous Hobby Horse to ride away. What adventures will you go on as you gallop around our galleries and Coventry City?
